Here are how the players rated at Anfield.DefenceAlisson Becker: 5 – Despite the ball, technically, being in the back of his net twice in the first half, he could not have done anything about either of them. He also couldn’t have done anything about their actual second goal, while the third he pulled off a decent save and was not helped by those in front of him.Dominik Szoboszlai: 6 – Did well considering he is not a full-back, but as everyone would have expected, he was much more effective when drifting into midfield.
Not the worst in the defence but not his best match.Milos Kerkez: 5 – Looked a little better going forward in comparison to recent weeks and whipped some nice balls into the box, but still lacked conviction in defence at points.Midfield:Ryan Gravenberch: 5 – Started well and was dominant, but the entire midfield got overrun by Forest and none could have the impact they would have wanted. Alexis Mac Allister: 6 – Almost scored but was cleared off the line well by Elliott Anderson, although he was the most forward-thinking in the middle of the park.READ MORE: Arne Slot spotted using a ‘bizarre’ new tactic for Liverpool against Nottingham ForestCurtis Jones: 5 – As always, he worked hard and showed some good footwork, but was not as influential as he would have wanted after being given a rare chance from the start.Attack:Mohamed Salah: 7 – Looked closer to his best and caused former teammate Neco Williams some problems.
A worrying start to life at Liverpool and given that he is supposed to be fully fit, just does not look like he fits into this system.Photo by Shaun Botterill/Getty ImagesCody Gakpo: 5 – Had a few good runs and looked like one of the only players giving it a good go, but also could not do much at all.SubstitutesHugo Ekitike: 5 – Big cheer from the crowd when he came on, but couldn’t have the impact they wanted. Made a few good runs and worked hard, never really tested the goalkeeper.Federico Chiesa: 5 – Was his lively self when coming on towards the end, but did not get the ball enough.
