Liverpool won the Premier League title with the top flight’s highest wage bill. Figures for Arne Slot’s debut season showed that the squad’s value up to May 31, 2025 had risen to £428 million, a £42M mark-up on the previous year.

The Reds’ latest set of accounts published on Friday also revealed their revenues surpassed £700M for the first time in the club’s history to £703m. However the increased in squad value, which does not include last summer’s £450M spending spree, saw administrative costs rise by £57M to £657M.

“The 2024-25 season is a great example of how this can work, with record revenues alongside the men’s team winning our 20th league title. “The club does face significant cost challenges, including rises in administrative, staffing and operational costs, alongside the need for us to compete at the highest level of the game, across our men and women’s teams.”
