The Frenchman will enter the final six months of his contract next month and he has shown no desire to put pen to paper on a new long-term deal. Konate is open to pursuing a new challenge on a free transfer next summer, but the Reds have not ruled out a mid-season sale of the ex-Leipzig man.

Marc Guehi was the top target last summer, but the Englishman is likely to stay put for the season with Crystal Palace. Like Konate, the Palace skipper will enter the last six months of his deal at the turn of the year, but he is fully committed to the south London outfit and will make way on a Bosman deal when the season ends.
