Bradley Barcola did not look happy as he was pictured watching Paris Saint-Germain’s Trophee des Champions defeat against Lens from the stands on Sunday. The Frenchman has remained professional throughout PSG’s negotiations with Liverpool for his transfer this summer, and was part of the squad which won the European Super Cup last week, but Sunday felt like a shift in dynamic.Luis Enrique looks to have accepted that Barcola does not want to be part of his squad next season, and the Spanish coach’s decision to leave him out of such an important match should empower Liverpool to now get the deal done on their terms. They are obviously preparing for life after the Frenchman.READ MORE: Why Jeremy Jacquet’s stunning Liverpool debut may not be enough to make him a starter just yetWith that in mind, Liverpool were right to hold firm, knowing that PSG would have little choice but to come down in price, or risk having too many attackers vying for places in Enrique’s team.Nevertheless, while Barcola was still involved in the European Super Cup, there was maybe a feeling that Enrique could keep him involved regardless of any new arrivals. That facade was broken on Sunday, when it became clear that the 23-year-old’s place in Paris is now untenable.

PSG cannot keep their asking price so high over a player who blatantly does not want to be there – and is not in their plans either – and this now heavily passes the advantage to Liverpool.
