Brewster was no exception to this, with some thinking that the youngster could end up becoming Liverpool’s next Ian Rush.Things obviously didn’t end up working out that way, and even though Liverpool got a decent chunk of money for Brewster, at the time, fans were gutted that he exited Anfield, especially after all the hype that was built up around him. In the 119 games the striker played for Sheffield United, he only contributed to 13 goals across all competitions, with four of them coming in the 2024-25 season. The fact that he failed to score or assist once during his first year with the Blades is also staggering. Why things went so wrong for Brewster, and what is he doing nowInjuries have taken a massive toll on Brewster’s career, that is, even when he was still a Liverpool player.

He’s already missed seven games for Derby County due to a couple of different reasons, and unless he can get a handle on things, it’s hard to see how he’d have any sort of future left in football.
