Liverpool has missed out on thousands after several players were dumped out of the World Cup, but there is a positive side to it for Andoni Iraola.Liverpool has missed out on thousands in the World Cup after failure from several nations(Image: (Photo by Catherine Ivill - AMA/Getty Images))While the World Cup continues through the knockout phases, more nations are starting to exit the tournament, as 32 sides will be whittled down to 16 over the coming days.Several Liverpool stars have already fallen victim to the brutality that comes with the latter stages of the tournament, as players from the Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden have already bowed out.Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, and Alexander Isak were among those who couldn't quite do enough to guide their teams through, with their seasons finally coming to an end.It has come at a financial cost for Liverpool, as the club will now miss out on more financial payments from FIFA, with the players released from international duty.FIFA had set out $355 million to give to clubs as solidarity payments as part of the World Cup, with the payments set out before the tournament as the Fifa Club Benefit Programme.Payments are given for players from when they are first released, on May 25, until their final day in the tournament, with money given for each day they are available for.An exit for the Liverpool stars who have struggled in recent days means that the club has now missed out on thousands that could cover several costs.Florian Wirtz was knocked out of the World Cup with Germany(Image: (Photo by Joe Prior/Visionhaus via Getty Images))There is an upside to those players being knocked out early, however. An exit will mean that several key stars will be able to return earlier for pre-season.Liverpool has to manage the key players well, having struggled with injuries over the past season, but the lack of extra matches and an earlier return to training should get them in shape for the new campaign.Considering how energetic Iraola needs his players to be, getting his stars back in action and ready to take on the new tactical instructions will also be a major boost. There are several stars still in the competition, with Liverpool likely to be keeping a close eye on those who are still featuring in the tournament this summer.Victor Munoz is with Spain, who take on Austria in the round of 32, while Alisson Becker is still in action with Brazil, who have made it through to the round of 16.Alexis Mac Allister is with Argentina, who will be back in action in the round of 32 against Cape Verde, with a potential run to the final now ahead of them.It remains to be seen when that trio will be back for Liverpool, but Iraola may have a largely full squad mid-way through the pre-season campaign at his disposal.
