Liverpool striker has resumed training with his teammates. Meanwhile, Jayden Danns has returned to training with the U21s after a difficult spell.

A stress fracture in his back disrupted a loan at Sunderland last season, and after a brief return in the Carabao Cup win over Southampton in September, a hamstring injury has kept him sidelined since. He’s been very unlucky in his career until now but he has a great mentality and is always fighting back after setbacks.

“He has had, unfortunately, quite a lot because this would have been a great moment for him with Alexander Isak being out, and with the quality he has, being with us and helped us in certain. “Unfortunately for him and for us he has faced a lot of injuries, but he will fight back and come back and the world will get to know him, the moment he is fit again.” James McConnell and new centre-back signing Mor Talla Ndiaye also took part in ball work as they continue their recoveries from respective fitness issues.
