Supporters will tune in hoping to hear positive news on the men’s side – but elsewhere at the club there has already been a disappointing update. Liverpool FC have confirmed that women’s forward Mia Enderby has sustained a knee injury, forcing her to withdraw from the latest England Under‑23s squad.

A club statement read: “Mia Enderby has withdrawn from the England U23s squad due to injury.” “The Liverpool FC Women forward was stretchered off immediately after scoring the opening goal in her side’s 2-1 win over Everton in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup last weekend.” “Scans have since confirmed that Enderby sustained a minor knee injury when colliding with Everton goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan.” “She will therefore not play for England U23s during the March international break, instead remaining with her club to continue her rehabilitation at the AXA Melwood Training Centre.” It is a blow given how influential Enderby has been for Liverpool Women over the past couple of seasons. This term she has continued to impress in the Women’s Super League, registering two goals and an assist in 14 league appearances and regularly providing energy and direct running from the flank.
