(Credit: Imago) Sat 4 October 2025 7:30, UK Liverpool will have to shell out a significant amount if they are to have any hopes of signing Jarrad Branthwaite. That is according to football finance expert Dr Dan Plumley, who told Football Insider that Everton‘s strong form would likely serve to drive up the asking price for the 23-year-old.Branthwaite has been a target for Man United and Liverpool for several seasons, given his all-round talents at centre-back.Standing at 6ft5in, the defender is dominant in the air, but he also has the ability to be relied upon as his team’s main distributor from the back.Mick Brown told Football Insider that Liverpool are considering “making a move” for Branthwaite, but there are several hurdles the Reds must overcome to make the England international the first player to move from Everton to Anfield since Abel Xavier in 2002.Jarrad Branthwaite is a target for Liverpool. “And, of course what’s happened in the short term at the minute is Everton have picked up on the pitch as well.“So they’re not going to be in a position where they want to sell, so if someone is going to come in and take him, I think you’re gonna be setting the bar somewhere around £60-70m.”Everton looking at striker alternatives in JanuaryAlthough their defence has been exceptionally solid this season, the same cannot be said for the striker position.Beto has scored just once this season.
