Brughmans is on the Anfield club’s radar as they brace themselves for an approach from Nottingham Forest for second-choice stopper Giorgi Mamardashvili. A move for the Belgium under-19 international is not expected to materialise before Tuesday’s transfer deadline but would be accelerated if Mamardashvili does depart.

The Georgian entered his second full season with the Reds this summer, making 20 appearances in the previous campaign due to Alisson’s ongoing injury problems. However Andoni Iraola’s side will only entertain Mamardashvili’s potential exit before the window shuts on the proviso an immediate replacement can be sourced.
A potential move to the City Ground for the 25-year-old would leave Liverpool with only Freddie Woodman as an experienced alternative to Alisson as first choice. The 18-year-old may still find himself down the pecking order on Merseyside despite Alisson’s current contract set to expire at the end of this season.
