The 2026 summer transfer window does not open until June 15, but Liverpool are already making plans to improve their squad. With a seven-point lead over Chelsea established, the Reds have all but guaranteed Champions League qualification this season, which will be useful when it comes to their spending ability. On that front, we have rounded up the latest Liverpool transfer news from the last day or so, including updates on Yan Diomande, Franculino Dju and more. You can only pick ONE player for Liverpool to sign this summer, who is it?

Who should Richard Hughes be targeting above all… Photo Credit: Getty Images/Robin Jones Liverpool eye Bradley Barcola, Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from PSGWith Mohamed Salah leaving, the Merseyside outfit are expected to strengthen in wide areas this summer.A number of players have been linked, with David Lynch now saying that Liverpool like three PSG forwards. He said: “Liverpool, they like pretty much all of those PSG wingers. They like Barcola, they like Doue, they like Kvaratskhelia if they were even on the market this summer maybe.“And there have been suggestions that might be the case albeit I only think they’ll sell one of them if they do and it will be to bring someone in like [Yan] Diomande so one to keep an eye on.”RB Leipzig plan for Yan Diomande Speaking of Yan Diomande, his links to Liverpool have once again been rife in the last 24 hours or so.The winger has 13 goals to his name this season and with RB Leipzig close to securing Champions League football for next season, Diomande’s price tag is going up.It is thought that the Bundesliga side will now look to secure in excess of €100m for the player, which was the previous reported price tag (around £87m).Liverpool target 22-goal strikerWith Hugo Ekitike injured, there has been much talk around how Liverpool will cope without this season’s top goalscorer.Alexander Isak is leading the line at present but after missing a good chunk of 2025/26 and pre-season, the Swede still looks some way off his best.In turn, it is perhaps not too surprising to see a few names linked to come and provide depth in the Reds’ forward line.A report coming out of Spain this week claims that Liverpool are in a transfer race for Franculino Dju.Sides like Everton and West Ham United are also interested in the 22-goal striker, who Midtjylland would like in excess of €25m (around £21.7m) for this summer.Randal Kolo Muani to LiverpoolSpeaking of strikers, Slot has ‘approved’ the profile of Randal Kolo Muani, who is also thought to be on Juventus’ radar. The 27-year-old is currently on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, where he has scored once in 25 Premier League appearances. It certainly would be an interesting decision to bring him in this summer given that form, but maybe a loan deal could be worked out just to ensure there’s cover for Ekitike.Liverpool’s stance on signing new centre-backThe Reds have been tipped to sign a new centre-back for a while now, with recent reports saying they are one of the teams that can activate Nico Schlotterbeck’s release clause by July 19.However, now that Ibrahima Konate is expected to remain at Anfield beyond 2026, plans to bring in another defender look to have taken a backseat.Instead, the latest update is that Liverpool won’t sign a centre-back, barring any other changes to their backline, and will instead prioritise other areas of their squad.Join Our NewsletterReceive a digest of our best Liverpool content each week direct to your mailbox
