SportFootballLiverpool FCInter Milan have had a long-standing interest in Curtis Jones with the Liverpool midfielder out of contract next summerInter Milan have confirmed they are increasingly unlikely to sign Curtis Jones due to Liverpool's high asking price.Jones is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract at Anfield with the Reds open to moving on the midfielder so not to risk losing him for nothing next summer.Inter first expressed their interest in the 25-year-old in January when Liverpool flatly rejected their offer to sign the player on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy.The Serie A side, though, have maintained their interest in the player with talks having taken place between the clubs over the last few weeks.Liverpool recently rejected an offer of €25million (£21.7m) for Jones from Inter and value the player at nearer £35m.And now Inter director Piero Ausilio has now admitted it appears there may not be scope for an agreement to be reached."I’ve never denied that we like Curtis Jones," he said. "He has the qualities that could give us something extra.

But there’s a significant gap between our valuation and Liverpool’s.“Liverpool have every right to ask for what they believe is a fair price, and we have every right to decide whether that works for us or not. As things stand, I’d say it’s very difficult.”Jones is believed to not want to sign for Nottingham Forest, who are in the market for a midfielder after Elliot Anderson agreed to join Manchester City for £116m.Aston Villa and Arsenal have also been linked with the Liverpool man during the transfer window.FOLLOW OUR LIVERPOOL FC FACEBOOK PAGE!
