Liverpool have unveiled images of a permanent memorial for Diogo Jota. Jota and his brother Andre Silva were killed in a road accident in northern Spain last July, plunging the Premier League champions into a state of shock and mourning.

The Reds permanently retired the forward’s No.20 shirt while plans to create a lasting tribute to the pair at Anfield were confirmed shortly after the tragedy. A sculpture titled ‘Forever 20’ will pay tribute to the pair with a flowing heart design in memory of Jota’s trademark celebration incorporated in the centrepiece.

Viewed from different angles, the Portugal international’s number and the No.30 worn by Silva will be visible alongside words from his chant still aired by fans.. Personal references to Jota’s life beyond football will be included with a gaming controller detail on the plinth to allow supporters to continue to pay their respects.
