Use the comment button on the bottom left to have your say To Van Dijk’s credit, he has done so, speaking to the media during difficult moments.However, with Salah’s future up in the air, it’s clear that there is a lack of senior leaders in the team right now.Curtis Jones needs praise for how he has conducted himself on and off the pitch, but another veteran with plenty of experience should be brought in to help out Van Dijk this summer.Thiago Silva should be on Liverpool’s January transfer listOn that front, it emerged earlier in December that Thiago Silva is set to become a free agent, and Europe is expected to be his next destination following his Fluminense exit.Now 41, there is no chance that the Brazilian can play every single game in the Premier League.However, he would come with a wealth of experience from all around Europe and most importantly, has proven himself as a leader at various clubs, including Chelsea and PSG.Having someone with his presence and wisdom in the dressing room would lift Liverpool and take some of the burden off Van Dijk.The Reds are also incredibly light in the centre-back department this season, so even if he can only play a couple of times a month, it’s worth the gamble given he’s available for nothing. Use the comment button on the bottom left to have your say Two more players Liverpool should sign in JanuaryWhile Silva would be a nice addition, there are two more names who could improve Arne Slot’s squad and start on a regular basis.Given he’s going to be a free agent at the end of June, Liverpool should move for Marc Guehi as soon as possible so there is less competition for his signature.A trio of Van Dijk, Silva and Guehi would be ideal for Slot, who has, at times, struggled to keep the Premier League champions’ backline tight.Further forward, if Salah leaves, Antoine Semenyo seems the obvious option to replace the Egyptian.There may be better picks available in the summer, but Semenyo’s release clause is active from January.
