It's in many ways the last thing Liverpool need. After falling on the floor and then sitting there stropping on Saturday, Liverpool's final chance of silverware hangs in the balance to be decided on Wednesday. With fans, the club, and the players all warring, Arne Slot can count himself fortunate that he has a shot at redeeming last year's penalty defeat to PSG.Here is the eleven that he is most likely to pick.GK- Giorgi MamardashviliIn the absence of last year's Parc des Princes hero Alisson Becker, who put in one of his best performances at Liverpool, making a myriad of saves.Mamardashvili hardly covered himself in glory at the Etihad, but will look to stake his claim as Alisson's potential successor on the biggest stage.Liverpool will need Mamardashvili to make some big saves if they are to stand any chance of progressing.LB- Milos KerkezLiverpool's left-back will likely be Milos Kerkez, as Arne Slot has made it clear that he is his first-choice over the course of the season.Liverpool FC v Real Madrid C.F. - UEFA Champions League 2025/26 League Phase MD4 | Chris Brunskill/Fantasista/GettyImagesKerkez has made big improvements this season, but this game might call for the experienced Andy Robertson.Slot will likely stick with Kerkez at left-back.CB- Virgil van DijkLiverpool have few choices at centre-back, with Joe Gomez the only player likely to break the hegemony.Virgil van Dijk as Liverpool's captain will be one of the first names on the teamsheet, and will be looking to bounce back after giving away another penalty last weekend.CB- Ibrahima KonateKonate, 26, is back in his home city.

He hasn't yet and likely never will kick on to that next level at Liverpool. He has been very inconsistent this season, but this is a game you would like to think would favour him, as PSG look to play quickly and on the ground. Liverpool will need him to be at his best, RB- Dominik SzoboszlaiHe could potentially feature in a number of positions in the team, but Dominik Szoboszlai is likely to feature from the start.Slot may try to mimic Trent Alexander-Arnold's production from right-back as he has done at times this season.Szoboszlai has some making up to do with the Liverpool supporters, after showing his frustration at the end of Liverpool's bewildering defeat in East Manchester.CM- Ryan GravenberchGravenberch will have his hands full trying to track PSG's strong runners, dashing from midfield. He was taken off in the 67th minute at the weekend, and after a poor past few months, should hopefully have a point to prove in Paris.CM - Alexis Mac AllisterMac Allister realistically should not start in this match, however a little like Kerkez, Slot has made it clear who his first choice is.There is a real chance that Mac Allister gets significantly outrun in midfield and will need to show a level of anticipation that he has seldom shown this season.Mac Allister only came on as a sub for Gravenberch and should be fresh for the trip to Paris.AM- Florian WirtzWirtz got on the ball quite a bit before Liverpool went a goal behind against Manchester City.He will play his first career game against PSG, I have put him in midfield but he could also feature on the wing as needed.

LW- Cody GakpoCody Gakpo didn't feature against Man City until 20 minutes to go.He has left a lot to be desired at times this season, but Liverpool could really utilise the ball-carrying capabilities that he exhibits at times, on Wednesday night.RW- Mo SalahLiverpool's Egyptian forward also perhaps doesn't deserve a start, but I find it difficult to imagine Arne Slot not starting him.Jeremie Frimpong is perhaps the only mitigating factor, should Arne Slot want to start some real pace out wide.Salah will keep his place and is looking to keep alive his last chance of silverware in a storied Liverpool career.ST- Hugo EkitikeTalk about a point to prove, Ekitike made one senior appearance for PSG, before being loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt a couple of years ago. This is Ekitike's first game back in the French capital. His only two appearances against PSG came with Stade de Reims in the 2021/22 season.Ekitike has been blistering at times and mind-numbing at others.
