Liverpool fans had hoped to be able to call upon Bradley Barcola for Saturday’s game against Nottingham Forest, having seen a fairly stale performance from their team at St James’ Park last weekend.But while Barcola should be ready to play against Ipswich next Friday, the Frenchman will not be available for Liverpool‘s first Premier League home game of the season, and with no other new players signed, Andoni Iraola is picking from the same squad.He will do so looking to prevent Forest from winning on a third straight visit to Anfield, and with plenty on the line, here is the XI we expect Iraola to go with. Alisson should play.There are a few decisions for Iraola to make in front of his goalkeeper, but despite poor performances from both Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez at Newcastle, both are likely to be picked again.Another big call could come at centre-half, where the Liverpool head coach will once again pick between Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo. Both did well at St James’ Park, but while Araujo can be pleased with his work so far, Jacquet will surely get the nod for what will be a competitive Anfield debut.There are no questions over who will partner the Frenchman at Anfield, with Virgil van Dijk primed to go again.READ MORE: The three players Andoni Iraola needs to drop for Liverpool’s match with Nottingham Forest on SaturdayMidfieldAfter what happened against Newcastle, with the Liverpool midfield being caught far too high up the pitch for both goals conceded, all eyes will be on what Iraola opts to do in the middle of the pitch here.Ryan Gravenberch was guilty of conceding possession too cheaply for each of Newcastle’s goals, and there have been some calls for Iraola to replace the Dutchman with Alexis Mac Allister or even Trey Nyoni.However, Iraola has stuck with Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai throughout pre-season, and it would be a surprise if he deviates from that against Forest.Though he was utterly anonymous during the Newcastle draw, Florian Wirtz has to play here as well.

There had been a possibility that Gakpo would have left the club before the Forest match, but he looks likely to be on the team sheet again.So too does Alexander Isak, who will be hoping that a warmer reception from a much more friendly crowd will lead to a better performance.The only change in the team, then, is likely to come at right wing, where Rio Ngumoha failed to fully impress against Newcastle.A home clash with Forest may be better suited to getting more out of Ngumoha, but after an incredibly lively, penalty-winning cameo from Victor Munoz, the Spaniard should really be starting here for his competitive Anfield debut.
