Liverpool is set for a busy summer, having already sealed two deals, with an expectation that several more signings could follow to improve the options available to Andoni IraolaAndoni Iraola is set for a huge summer with Liverpool's transfer business(Image: (Photo by Catherine Ivill - AMA/Getty Images))While this summer's transfer business is highly unlikely to topple the spending of last year, Liverpool is still expecting a huge window ahead with signings set to improve the options within the roster of players for next season.Andoni Iraola 's arrival means the Reds will be ditching the slow and patient possession-based style of last season in favor of a more intense, direct, and energetic style. That means some changes to the team, some of which have already happened, with Mohamed Salah and Ibrahima Konate among the key exits confirmed for this summer. Those moves, combined with other deals, will bring about a new-look Liverpool XI that is looking to hit the ground running under the new head coach.Starting in goal, Iraola will have a decision to make over his goalkeeping options, with the experienced Alisson Becker now into the final year of his deal, while Giorgi Mamardashvili will be battling him for a place in the team as his long-term replacement.
However, if he is fit and available, then Alisson is likely to keep his position.Across the backline, there is only one major change expected, as Konate's exit will be filled by the arrival of Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes, with the promising young centre-back likely to start from the off.Milos Kerkez is expected to stay at left-back, with Kostas Tsimikas set to be his backup, while Virgil van Dijk will keep his place at centre-back. With no return date set for Conor Bradley after his severe injury, it seems as though Jeremie Frimpong is likely to take up the right-back position. In midfield, there are plenty of options who could play a role in the team, with a trio of Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Florian Wirtz likely to start.Yasin Ayari has been linked with a transfer to Liverpool this summer(Image: (Photo by Martín Fonseca/Eurasia Sport Images/Getty Images))The central ranks will still have Alexis Mac Allister involved, but there could be an arrival in the form of Yasin Ayari.
The Swedish international could be a bargain signing, as he is into his final year under contract with Brighton and would provide a quality depth option with potential to grow further at just 22 years old.Moving into the forward line, Alexander Isak seems secure at centre-forward, but it's the options around him that could prove to be fluid heading into the new season. Victor Munoz has already arrived, and is set to be a quality rotation option, while there is still a need for a statement signing to replace Mohamed Salah.Bradley Barcola seems most likely to fill that role, even if he has more experience on the left, while Antonio Nusa could join as another depth option with potential for the future. On the other flank, Cody Gakpo seems more likely to start immediately, with Rio Ngumoha set to be handed more game time as he continues to progress at this early stage of his career. In all, it means Liverpool would add another expensive signing in Barcola, before a slightly cheaper deal for Nusa, and then a bargain-buy for Ayari to round off the roster. That would leave Iraola with a team that is filled with quality, alongside a substitutes bench that would provide him with depth and an injection of energy when needed.Liverpool likely starting XI : Alisson; Frimpong, Van Dijk, Jacquet, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Gakpo, Isak, Barcola.Bench options : Mamardashvili, Bradley, Tsimikas, Leoni, Gomez, Nyoni, Mac Allister, Ayari, Ngumoha, Nusa, Munoz, Ekitike.
