Marc Guehi came within hours of joining Liverpool on deadline day, but with a transfer to Anfield no longer guaranteed, reports in Germany claim a new meeting elsewhere. Guehi remains the subject of interest from Liverpool having seen a £35 million move to the Premier League champions fall through at the last hour on deadline day.
Sky Germany now claim Bayern Munich have held a “secret meeting” with Guehi’s agent, with sporting director Max Eberl said to consider the 25-year-old as a replacement for Dayot Upamecano. Liverpool’s Guehi hopes: Details emerge after rival meeting Guehi appears to remain the priority – albeit with further links to Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck and Sporting CP’s Zeno Debast and Ousmane Diomande – but the Reds could face competition from Bayern as well as Real Madrid.
So it’s a big race for Marc Guehi. “Guehi has been a big leader for Crystal Palace, won titles for Crystal Palace in recent months, but obviously the next club is going to be in the race to win important competitions like maybe the Premier League and then obviously the Champions League.” Guehi could be considered as a replacement for Ibrahima Konate, who himself is into the final year of his contract, but it is important to note the England international is predominantly left-sided.
