FSG CEO of Football Michael Edwards could yet depart the setup at Anfield according to reliable reports. He was handed the new title of CEO of Football and, crucially, asked to spearhead an ambitious push into multi-club ownership, with FSG publicly confirming that he would lead the search for a sister club to sit beneath Liverpool in their portfolio. James Pearce of the Athletic has reported that with multi-club ownership plans currently on ice, it has casts doubt on Edwards’ future at Liverpool since he agreed for a return with that idea in mind: “What it means for Edwards going forward is uncertain,” Pearce reported.

“His first priority when he became FSG CEO of football two years ago was to create a new football leadership structure at Liverpool post-Jurgen Klopp. With Hughes installed as sporting director and Slot appointed as head coach, the transition was seamless as Liverpool won a record-equalling 20th top-flight league title.” “Two years ago, Edwards said he was returning with “renewed vigour and energy” after being tempted back by FSG’s commitment to the multi-club model.
