Whatever was said in his meeting with Slot was clearly enough to at least calm the situation a little bit, with the winger starting on the bench against Brighton. He came on in the 26th minute, though, due to an injury to Joe Gomez, and based on how he did when coming on, it would suggest he has put his anger to one side.Mohamed Salah was unselfish against BrightonOne thing Salah has been called in the past is selfish, with his comments after the Leeds game certainly not helping him escape that title. The fact his situation has still not been solved is also not the best look, suggesting that he was reluctant to back down, although his performance against Brighton says otherwise. The Egyptian was lively as soon as he came on, with it being clear that he wanted to prove a point, and he did just that in the best way possible. He was a constant threat down the right, but the thing that stood out was his link-up play, with the 33-year-old so selfless throughout. In the first half, he made 10 passes in the final third, with two of these creating good opportunities for his teammates.

He made another three key passes in the second half, even setting up Ekitike’s second goal with an excellent corner kick.Photo by Carl Recine/Getty ImagesHis one-twos with the likes of Florian Wirtz also helped the Reds speed up play, with the attack looking much like their old selves, with Salah a big reason for this.Mohamed Salah has proven he still has plenty to giveAlthough fans will have wanted a performance like this without the emotion behind it, it is at least a good sign that he is not finished yet.He may not have scored, but his impact on the game was felt massively, and the fans’ reaction to his introduction says a lot.Salah may have arrived looking miserable, but he certainly did not play like it, even if it could be his last game for the club if he was to be sold in January. If he was, though, it would likely prove to be a mistake, with the club legend showing that he can still contribute should he and Slot squash their beef.
