Unless the Scot enjoys an outstanding loan spell at St Mirren, it’s hard to envisage his parent club seeking to extend his deal. Conversely, if things go brilliantly for him in his homeland, he might wish for a permanent transfer to Craig McLeish’s side.
The Northern Ireland captain isn’t due to return from injury for another few months, and the Dutchman was strongly criticised over his performance at Newcastle on Sunday, yet Liverpool have been happy to grant Ramsay a loan exit despite the issues that Andoni Iraola has at right-back. It’s a shame that it hasn’t worked out how he’d have liked when he joined from Aberdeen four years ago, but we wish him the very best at St Mirren and would love to see him making a vital contribution for the Paisley club.
