Liverpool have had a poor few weeks in their Premier League campaign, with four losses in a row – and Mohamed Salah’s torrid form means that the Reds should cash in on his services to stop kicking the can down the road.Liverpool produced a series of late winners in the Premier League to hand themselves five straight victories in the division to start the season, with four of those winning goals coming after the 80th minute. However, they haven’t been getting away with clinching games at the death for too long. Four defeats in a row, spanning over a month, have seen Arne Slot’s side slip to seventh in the league table. And with TBR Football understanding that there is remaining interest from Saudi Pro League clubs for Mohamed Salah, they should take a lucrative offer for his services whilst he’s in bad form.Photo by Liverpool FC/Liverpool FC via Getty ImagesSources: Mohamed Salah move to Saudi Pro League shouldn’t be ruled outTBR Football understands that the Saudi Pro League’s offer to Mohamed Salah remains on the table, with the Egyptian winger being the league’s most desired target, and Salah has ambitions to play in the Middle East at some point in his career.Salah signed a new deal at Liverpool in April, becoming the highest-paid player in Reds history, but his recent form has seen Liverpool toil on the domestic stage. The move remains a plausible option, with league chiefs putting together a deal that would see Salah earn a salary similar to Cristiano Ronaldo’s, with the Portugal star excelling at Al-Nassr.Salah could be offered £150million a year as well as having the right to part-ownership of a club in the future and that makes a move an incredibly attractive proposition for him.Photo by Liverpool FC/Liverpool FC via Getty ImagesLiverpool are banking on Mohamed Salah turning his poor form around but it’s almost too lateDespite Salah’s incredible career at Liverpool, this would be the perfect opportunity to bring money in.
Salah’s value is only going to dwindle in the future, and although he may have limited resale value at present, it’s the highest it will ever be before the inevitable happens.Saudi Arabian interest in Salah two years ago was a much different scenario, given he was still performing well, but it’s more feasible to accept an offer now that he isn’t at the same levels.SeasonGamesGoals and assists2022-2351462023-2444392024-2552572025-26137His contract is set to run out at the end of next season, and with 20 months to run, that will see him earn around £40million in that time given his £500,000-a-week deal. If Liverpool do sell Salah in January, they’d save around £34million in wages – more than enough to either bring in a top young replacement, or spend big on another star’s wages. His extension means that Liverpool could garner a fee for Salah’s services.
The fact that he will be 35 by the time his contract runs out also means he will have declined by the end of that Liverpool deal, and it’s unlikely we’re going to see prolonged periods of improvement from Salah as he approaches his twilight years. There is no better time for the former Chelsea talent to leave, both for himself, the Saudi Pro League and Liverpool, especially after Arne Slot criticised Salah for missing chances.
