Liverpool are working on a deal to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande after an outstanding 2025-26 season that caught the attention of Europe’s biggest clubs. The Telegraph‘s Dominic King and The Times‘ Paul Joyce have both reported on Liverpool’s keen interest in signing Diomande this summer, with sporting director Richard Hughes devising a plan to reduce the reported €100m (£86m) asking price.

King reports: “Liverpool are prioritising the signing of a new right winger to replace Mohamed Salah, with RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande a top target.” Joyce provided a more in-depth report on the strategy behind Liverpool’s plans to sign Diomande. He writes: “Liverpool have RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande high on their list for potential acquisitions after the 19-year-old turned heads during his first season in the Bundesliga.

“It stands to reason that Liverpool’s sporting director, Richard Hughes, would try to chip away at that fee and the use of Harvey Elliott as part of a swap deal has been mooted.” Joyce went on to add that Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon and Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola are also under consideration for Liverpool this summer. ???
