MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that it will take an exceptional amount of money for the Eagles to let Guehi go, despite his contract expiring in the summer.Wyness added that Palace may be more relaxed about selling the defender after their good start to the season. He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Marc Guehi to Liverpool, how long have we been talking about that one?

“Look, there could well be a deal that comes and they have to pay, but Palace would be the winner in terms of that. If he’s only got six months left on his contract and somebody comes in and offers 50 million, which is what they might need, then Palace might have to look at that deal.

They’ve had a good start to the season, so they might feel more relaxed about taking the money at that stage. That’s what Liverpool would have to do.”Liverpool will be forced into transfer marketFollowing the news that Giovanni Leoni will be out for an extended period after suffering an ACL tear, Liverpool are looking light at the back.Credit: ImagoUntil January, Slot will have to cope with the likes of Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo filling in at centre-back, if any of his regular defenders are missing. However, the issues could force the Reds into the transfer market in the new year, and Guehi would be the first name on their shortlist.Liverpool are able to sign the England international on a free transfer next summer, when his contract with Crystal Palace expires, but it remains to be seen whether they will be able to wait that long. For more Liverpool and exclusive news, follow us on Facebook or join our brand new WhatsApp Channel for instant updates to be sent straight to your phone.
