Mohamed Salah has been backed to seal a shock exit from Liverpool at the end of this season, having only signed a contract extension earlier this year. Salah is contracted with Liverpool until the summer of 2027, having signed a two-year extension, so he is expected to stay until at least then.

That said, former City financial advisor Stefan Borson told Football Insider that he could “definitely” see Salah sealing a move to Saudi Arabia next summer, but did play down a rumoured £150m fee. “It seems to me that if he does have a poor season, Liverpool will be certainly willing to let him go for a much lower fee than historically to save the wages if nothing else, and he’d want to go, so you can make the deal happen.” Should Liverpool cash in on Salah in 2026?

Salah’s performances this season have been alarming, with some feeling he has peaked as a player since the end of the title-winning 2024/25 campaign. That said, he has proven the doubters wrong so many times in the past, and the Reds will hopefully see the best of him again after the international break.
