Ally McCoist has urged Harvey Elliott to hold a meeting with Andoni Iraola over his future after the destructive impact his loan spell at Aston Villa has had on his body and form. “He has got to get playing – it doesn’t look like it will be at Liverpool,” he said.
“It is a slippery slope and he has to be very careful. I don’t imagine wage demands will be that high but he needs to go and play.
“He needs to sit down with Iraola and find out if he has a chance or if he is in his plans because he needs to play. If he stays at Anfield, the 23-year-old simply won’t play enough football to get back into the top physical condition required to yield the best of his creative prowess.
