I remember watching him when he first came through, then he went out on loan to Bristol Rovers, and he impressed enough to eventaully get into the Liverpool side. “Last year, the manager decided that he was surplus to requirements and the club thought they could get a good fee from him, so they decided it was best for him to move on.

He’s impressed since going to Germany and he’s now an important part of his England squad as well, and Thomas Tuchel clearly likes him. “Plus, he’s being tipped as an option to solve their issues at right-back, but I don’t think he’s the answer in that respect, for that sort of money they’d want a specialist in that position.

“I don’t doubt he would be an improvement on what they’ve got and it might be something they look at in the future, but for now I don’t think it’s going to be part of their plans.” Should Liverpool seal Jarell Quansah reunion? He’s in a great place to learn, and when he gets the opportunity to play, like tonight, he just has to show his qualities and play with confidence.
