Jurgen Klopp appears to have made up his mind about the kind of role that would tempt him back into management, and it’s not a return to Liverpool. The former Liverpool boss is settled in his wider football role after stepping away from the daily demands of club coaching, but a fresh report has now suggested there is one route back into the dugout that would turn his head.

The suggestion is that he remains comfortable in his current Red Bull position and is in no rush to dive back into the relentless week-to-week cycle that defined his years at Mainz, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool.Klopp walked away from Liverpool after saying he had run out of energy for the demands of elite club management, so a national team role, with a different rhythm and less daily intensity, would be a great fit.

But international football changes quickly, and if Germany were to endure another poor major tournament, the mood around the team could shift again and ‘Klopp could find the door open’.The bond with Liverpool will always be there, and supporters will probably never completely let go of the idea that he could return one day, just not before he tries his hand at a role on the international stage.
