Liverpool are keeping their options open during their search for a centre-back.The Reds have not exactly kept it secret that they are in the market for a new defender, with their pursuit of Marc Guehi made very public. The Crystal Palace captain had everything agreed with the Reds over the summer and even completed his medical, but the South London side pulled the plug on the deal at the very last minute. This has left Liverpool short of options and in the market for a centre-back in the summer, with Guehi still very much first choice. However, due to the stiff competition for the Englishman, the Reds are not closing off their options, with a new target emerging as his alternative. Liverpool were linked with Pacho before he joined PSG, meaning his name comes as no surprise, although Botman perhaps does. The Dutchman is well admired in the Premier League and his talent is clear for all to see, although his injury record as of late would be a concern.
