Top defender.”While there is no clear idea of whether Liverpool will commit to putting a bid in at this time, the conflicting reports certainly show that this is a developing situation which likely will only become clear nearer January.Bayern Munich interest in Nico Schlotterbeck could help LiverpoolWhile it would be a shame not to sign a player like him, with the interest from Bayern Munich, it would actually be a positive for the Reds’ more likely pursuit of Dayot Upamecano.The Frenchman will become a free agent in the summer of 2026 when his contract runs out at Munich, with Liverpool one of the suitors for his signature.Both players would be perfect additions, but Upamecano would be an ideal replacement if Ibrahima Konate is set to leave on a free transfer next year.The interest from Munich in Schlotterbeck could be a good sign for Slot’s side to up their interest and pursuit of the 26-year-old French international.
