Photo Credit: Getty Images/Carl Recine FSG’s stance on multi-club model is frustrating Michael EdwardsAccording to The Athletic, Julian Ward and Pedro Marques have been assessing teams around Europe for just over 18 months that FSG could potentially purchase alongside Liverpool.However, Edwards, who returned to the club amid the owners’ plans to take part in the multi-club model, has now been left frustrated by the lack of progress on that front.Instead, the latest signs are that another football team being added to the FSG ownership group are all but off the table.In turn, it is speculated that it could potentially lead to Edwards’ long-term future at the club being cast into doubt.Suggestions of unrest from the Liverpool chief come at the same time Richard Hughes is being linked with an exit.Edwards and Hughes played a key role in appointing Arne Slot as manager, as well as the £450m spend during the 2025 summer transfer window.But a move to Saudi Arabia is now being mooted for the sporting director.Like Edwards and Slot, Hughes is now in the final 18 months of his contract at Anfield, and it may well be the case that all three depart in the coming year.That would leave FSG needing to rebuild what is essentially the majority of their infrastructure at the club.Fans, however, probably aren’t too concerned about this, especially given their growing anger towards Slot this season.Should all three leave, it would be interesting to see if Jurgen Klopp, who there have been suggestions fell out with Edwards when he was at Anfield, would be open to returning in any sort of role behind the scenes.Join Our NewsletterReceive a digest of our best Liverpool content each week direct to your mailbox
