Liverpool are reportedly relaxed on the contract situation of Alexis Mac Allister as they push to tie down his fellow midfielders. The Reds signed Ryan Gravenberch up to a new, six-year deal last week, while talks are said to be ongoing over an extension for Dominik Szoboszlai. In the meantime, Mac Allister has already confirmed that he himself is not in discussions over lengthening his stay at Anfield beyond 2028, with the Liverpool ECHO putting forward two reasons why that may be the case. Mac Allister is in his peak age-wise, and as he is showing signs that he will not progress beyond what he’s shown in his three years with the club, there is no reason for the Reds to rush an extension. However, that does mean that a decision may have to be made on Mac Allister this summer.

Who is your dream Liverpool manager in 2026/27? 10.Having said that, there would also be no harm in seeing how Mac Allister responds next season, and allowing him the chance to prove himself worthy of a new contract. It appears Liverpool will very much take a ‘wait and see’ approach with the former Brighton man.If a good offer arrives this summer, it would not be a surprise to see them take it, but should Mac Allister remain at Anfield, he could still get that new contract if he steps up his performances.
