There’s still time for things to turn around, but if Liverpool’s recent Premier League form is anything to go by, it’s hard to see how they’ll be in the running for the title by the end of the season. They spent an obscene amount of money improving their first-team squad, and, to be honest, it actually feels like they’ve managed to get worse.Of course, there have been a couple of solid performances from Arne Slot’s men recently, but more often than not, they’ve been on the back foot.

And now, while speaking on The Good, The Bad and The Football Podcast, Fowler has shared why he doesn’t think the Reds are going to win the Premier League title.“I mean, I got asked yesterday before the game ‘are Liverpool out of that little bit of a rut’ and I went ‘well, don’t get carried away,’” he said.“I mean, they beat Aston Villa, but for 45 minutes Liverpool weren’t great, and they beat Madrid.“So it’s only 45 minutes in a league game where they’ve played relatively ok, I think they’re out of the title race.”Liverpool must win their next five Premier League games if they want a chance of winning the titleTo be fair to Slot and his men, their recent run of games has been fairly difficult. However, their next five top-flight games look like they could work in the Reds’ favour.

And, if they want to keep in the title race, that’s exactly what they’re going to have to do; otherwise, they can kiss their hopes of retaining the Premier League goodbye.
