Anthony Gordon is being linked to both Liverpool and Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window. Image Credits: Imago Images Anthony Gordon’s future is back on the agenda ahead of the summer window, with both Liverpool and Arsenal circling as Newcastle brace themselves for fresh enquiries over their star forward.
Gordon is a boyhood Red who spent time in the club’s academy before breaking through at Everton, and reports over the last year have consistently placed Anfield near the front of the queue if Newcastle ever soften their stance. Club insiders stress that Gordon’s future remains “firmly in Newcastle’s hands” and that it would take an “extraordinary” offer, potentially in the region of £80‑100 million, for them to seriously consider cashing in – particularly after already losing Alexander Isak to Liverpool in a record‑breaking deal last summer.
And it looks like the Magpies have extra security on the 25-year-old, with Sky Sports reporting that his long-term deal signed last season runs all the way until 2030: “Newcastle have added security surrounding the future of Anthony Gordon with his contract set to expire in 2030,” Keith Downie reported “Reports have suggested Arsenal will target the Newcastle forward in the summer transfer window and hope to sign Gordon for £75m. “The 25-year-old was said to have just two years remaining on his current contract at the club but Sky Sports News can exclusively reveal that deal will run until 2030, when Gordon will be 29.” “Gordon signed a long-term extension at Newcastle in October 2024 and has four years remaining on that deal.” Want to get the latest Liverpool news direct to your phone?
