He’s got a lot more credit with me.“You know how difficult it is, Jamie will tell you, the pool of demand, they expect to win it every year.

So I think he needs the opportunity to sort of play as they are in trouble and fix the issues and try and get himself back in a good place. And I think he did during that period a few months ago, where they’d lost nine out of 12, but then they went on a run where he took them from 12th to fourth in the league.“And I think someone who’s won a league deserves at least a full season to try and get out of the problems and the issues that they’ve got.”Liverpool’s stance on sacking Arne SlotFans may not agree with Gerrard that the 47-year-old should be given at least a full season to fix things.Liverpool have a huge week coming up, with ties against Manchester City and PSG largely set to decide if their season has been a success or not.FSG could have used the international break to make a change in the dugout, but they opted against doing so.And the latest line coming out of the club, as David Ornstein shared recently when there were rumours about Xabi Alonso, is that Liverpool are backing Slot for the time being.Join Our NewsletterReceive a digest of our best Liverpool content each week direct to your mailbox
