There are not many Liverpool players who have shone during what has been a tough 2025/26 campaign for the Reds.Rio Ngumoha continues to earn plaudits amid his rapid rise at Anfield, while Dominik Szoboszlai has been the standout star for Arne Slot’s team across the season. Now, former manager Stuart Pearce has named the Liverpool star as one of the best players in the Premier League when discussing who will be crowned the Player of the Season. With Arne Slot expected to stay, will Liverpool challenge for the Premier League next season?

Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho are the only other players in the Reds’ history to clinch as many in a single campaign.Elsewhere, Szoboszlai has been called Liverpool’s best player by Jamie Carragher.Speaking last month after watching him score against Tottenham Hotspur, the ex-Red said: “Liverpool find themselves 1-0 in front thanks to their best player by a million miles this season, Dominik Szoboszlai.”Steven Gerrard also called the 25-year-old ‘Liverpool’s best player‘ earlier in the campaign. So, even if he doesn’t go on to win the Premier League Player of the Season award, it seems pretty likely he will pick up the Reds’ version of the trophy come the end of 2025/26.Join Our NewsletterReceive a digest of our best Liverpool content each week direct to your mailbox
