Dominik Szoboszlai is really proving to be a manager’s dream. It is the international break which means many of the Reds’ stars are trying to impress for their countries, with many still trying to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.This means that despite a well-needed pause in the season, many of the players cannot afford to rest up and take it easy, something that may worry Liverpool for when they return. One player who could have done with a break is Szoboszlai, with the 24-year-old playing a lot of minutes so far at the start of the season. However, he shone yet again for Hungary during their 2-0 win over Armenia, with the captain’s performance certainly one where he led by example. He also managed to get the best out of the players around him, including Milos Kerkez, and Szoboszlai’s new position may have just solved Arne Slot’s major headache.Dominik Szoboszlai played on the left for HungaryEver since Luis Diaz left in the summer, the left-wing position has been a troubled one for Liverpool, with Cody Gakpo not quite living up to expectations just yet. Slot has also tried Rio Ngumoha, Florian Wirtz and, very briefly, Hugo Ekitike out there too, although none had the impact he would have hoped for.But just like he has done all season, Szoboszlai may have just shown yet again how his versatility can be maximised, with the Hungarian playing on the left for Hungary in a 4-2-3-1 formation, the same one Slot deploys at Liverpool.Despite operating a little wider than usual, everything still went through the midfielder, with Szoboszlai certainly one of, if not the best, player on the pitch. He also formed a good connection down that flank with fellow club teammate Kerkez, with the left-back having a much better game than usual.READ MORE: Arne Slot could make a signing in January that leads to Liverpool totally changing formationNot only did he help keep a clean sheet, but he looked much more comfortable with his close friend just in front of him, especially when he had the ball at his feet.Szoboszlai has proven that he is happy to play anywhere and once again, he may have just given Slot another option at left-wing, while also helping solve the left-back dilemma.Dominik Szoboszlai could be Liverpool’s Player of the Season so farEarlier in the summer, questions were being raised about where Szoboszlai would fit into the team now that Florian Wirtz has arrived, but if anything, this should now be flipped on its head. The Hungarian has really stepped up this season and been one of the Reds’ best players, with the 24-year-old yet to have a bad game.He has also popped up with some vital moments, including that dummy for Ngumoha’s winner against Newcastle and, of course, that stunning free-kick to win the game against Arsenal. Now, he could see his chance come further forward and a bit wider, but it really would be no surprise to see him shine again if Slot attempts to do this in the near future.
