An interesting aspect of the interview with Gerrard, which was done for TNT, was when he asked Szoboszlai what his favourite position is. He said that he doesn’t like playing the No.7 role, which in a traditional sense is the right wing.

Szoboszlai said that his preference is playing as a “box-to-box eight.” This is where I think he’s best as well. When he’s asked to sit and protect the back four, I get the sense Szoboszlai gets bored or loses concentration, but when he’s allowed to chase the game and play with his instinct, he’s untouchable.
