Often during his seven-year spell on Merseyside, I’ve been indebted to Alisson, and I’m thankful that we own the best goalkeeper in the world. HENRY: As Dan says, Ali was magnificent – it’s performances like this that drill home the fact that there’s him on his level, and then the rest of the goalkeepers in the world.
It’s not a major worry for me just yet, but certainly not the start to life I’d envisaged for him at Anfield. I sometimes feel bad that I can be too harsh on Ibou – I do rate him most of the time – but he has done my head in for much of this season.
As for Wirtz, I’m not overly concerned yet, but we need more from a £116 million player, even if he’s a young player finding his feet. While much of the above would suggest a serious panic is required, we’ve seen this all before from successful Liverpool sides, and although we’ve hardly set the world alight this season, I still retain it’s a matter of time.
