FSG could now perform a massive “U-turn” and decide against increasing ticket prices, following the protests that have taken place in recent weeks. It isn’t only on the pitch where there has been unrest at Anfield this season, with the decision to increase ticket prices not going down at all well.
Speaking to Football Insider, former Everton CEO Keith Wyness could only praise the behaviour of the Liverpool supporters, saying it could have the desired outcome: “The Liverpool fans have got form for making Fenway Sports change their decisions on ticketing prices, and I’ve got to say I was very impressed with how well organised this protest was. “They had over 75,000 yellow cards handed out around the stadium for the fans, and it was a really impressive show that the Fenway Sports owners could not have ignored in any way, shape or form.
It’s something that Fenway Sports may have to do a U-turn on again. That’s more than, if we’re saying 4% a year for three years, that’s inflation, then that’s still a hefty increase.” Will FSG change their mind over Liverpool ticket prices?
