Use the comment button on the bottom left to have your say He believes he has been thrown under the bus and used as a scapegoat, something that has certainly divided opinion.However, there is one clear reason why he is absolutely right to do what he did, with the Dutchman not being consistent in his reasoning.Arne Slot continues to pick Cody Gakpo despite his poor performancesOne of the main reasons why Salah had been dropped from the team is because his performances were not meriting starts, with the winger not looking like himself this season.He has just four Premier League goals to his name and has barely been involved on a lot of occasions, with defenders finding it too easy to stop him.Photo by Molly Darlington/Getty ImagesHowever, the same can be said as of late of Cody Gakpo, with the Dutchman being far too predictable and losing the ball almost every time he cuts inside.The Dutchman also has four league goals but has played a lot more minutes, with it a mystery as to why he seems to start every game possible.The lack of out-and-out left wingers cannot be an excuse either as Liverpool do not have many on the right side either, yet Slot seems happy to move players like Dominik Szoboszlai out there instead of the Egyptian. Use the comment button on the bottom left to have your say If he does manage to stay in the job for their next game, this has given Slot the perfect excuse to change formation and drop both his usual wingers.Instead, moving to a formation with two strikers surely has to be the way forward as, right now, things cannot get much worse.Hugo Ekitike showed his clinical nature against Leeds by scoring a brace, while Alexander Isak was unable to use his time on the pitch effectively, with the Swede really ineffective when he is the lone striker.So, trying both together might just be worth a shot, especially as Salah will not be getting in the team for a long time and Gakpo has not been good enough to start another game on the left.
