Brentford right-back Michael Kayode is a target for Liverpool after his rise to prominence with the Bees and his starring role for the Italian national team. Liverpool have had major issues at right-back since Trent Alexander-Arnold left the club for Real Madrid, although you could argue that their issues in the role started several months before he left when it was obvious that his head had been turned by Los Blancos.

This is just pure speculation, but his performances have been so poor for the Reds that it’s hard to see what the club’s scouts saw in him before the £29.5m was paid to Bayer Leverkusen for his signature. Ronald Araujo has done an admirable job at right-back, and I’d be quite happy to keep him there, but Liverpool really do need a top right-back to solve this problem.

Kayod could be Liverpool’s right-back solution According to a report from Caught Offside, Liverpool have made Kayode one of their top transfer targets, although they face interest from several Premier League sides, while most of Europe’s big teams appear to be keeping a close eye on the 22-year-old. Caught Offside reports: “Sources have informed CaughtOffside that Liverpool have placed Kayode at the “top of their watchlist” as they look to strengthen right?back rotation.
