Trent Alexander-Arnold could potentially be reunited with former side Liverpool next week and has now shut down one theory about his move to much-criticised move to Real MadridTrent Alexander-Arnold has shot down a theory from Liverpool fans that he was learning Spanish in anticipation of a move to Real Madrid. The England defender completed a move to the Spanish giants in the summer at the end of his contract at Anfield.Upon his unveiling, Alexander-Arnold spoke near perfect Spanish, with some Reds fans suggesting that he was learning the language some time before his move was finalised.

But he appears to have finally put that theory to bed by claiming that he only commenced lessons back in May, with his move being finalised towards the end of that month. In footage shared on social media, he said: “Hi, I'm Trent. I started learning Spanish with Sara five months ago.“I didn't speak any Spanish before.

I wanted to learn Spanish to communicate better with my team-mates, my coach and the Madrid fans - and adapt better to the culture.“I really like the lessons because they were very football-based. That’s all it took, but it wasn’t easy.“Trent didn’t just learn Spanish.
