Liverpool supporters head into Sunday’s game against Brentford knowing that it will be their final chance to see either Mohamed Salah or Andy Robertson play for their club. The two legends have won it all since arriving together in the summer of 2017, going on to rack up more than 800 appearances between them.Their joint exits feel like a full stop on the Jurgen Klopp era, with only Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Alisson Becker left from the Premier League title-winning squad of 2020. Should Arne Slot drop Mohamed Salah from the squad to face Brentford? 👀 A sour end could be in store… Photo by Michael Regan/Getty Images And after a pointed Van Dijk social media post on Saturday, the captain has dropped a hint that when all is said and done this summer, he may ultimately be the last man standing.Van Dijk hints at Gomez and Alisson exitsIt will be hugely emotional for Liverpool supporters to let go of Salah and Robertson on Sunday, but after weeks of rumours, many will be fearing that Alisson will join them in departing. The goalkeeper has been a Liverpool player for eight brilliant years, but having seen injuries take hold over the past three seasons, there have been strong reports that he’s heading for Juventus.Meanwhile, Gomez has been linked with AC Milan, which would bring to a close the longest-serving stint of any current Liverpool squad member at 11 years.READ MORE: Florian Wirtz reveals whether he has a problem with Arne Slot after ‘liking’ Mohamed Salah’s recent postPhoto by Jean Catuffe/Getty ImagesWhile it is highly unlikely that confirmation of their exits will arrive before Sunday’s game, the reactions of both players on the Anfield turf are likely to hint at what may be to come.Van Dijk has dropped an early clue into that with a Saturday afternoon post on Instagram, which featured a new photo of the Dutchman alongside Salah, Robertson, Gomez and Alisson in front of the Premier League trophy.“Thankful and grateful for our journey together!” captioned Van Dijk.

“One more to go & a send off you deserve.”Clearly, the post could have been directed solely at Salah and Robertson, and Van Dijk did add an extra slide of his journey with both players at Liverpool, but with the rumours swirling around Alisson and Gomez, it feels like there may be more to it.Will Alisson and Gomez really leave? The end of this season really does feel like the closing of an era at Liverpool, and it would not be a surprise at all to see Alisson and Gomez leave as well. From a purely playing point of view, though, the Reds could probably do with both of them sticking around. Who gets your vote? 👀 Photo by Harry Langer/DeFodi Images/DeFodi via Getty Images Gomez has been important this season, and with uncertainty over Ibrahima Konate’s future and Liverpool’s troubles at right-back, they might be better oFf keeping him until the end of his contract in 2027.Similarly, there would be no harm at all in keeping Alisson around and attempting to manage his injuries while further integrating Giorgi Mamardashvili into a starting role.Big decisions will have to be made over the coming months, but if Van Dijk’s post is anything to go by, it seems, sadly, that they may have already been taken.

We’ll know more once the final whistle goes on Sunday, but it feels as though Alisson and Gomez may also be making their final Liverpool appearances this weekend. Join Our NewsletterReceive a digest of our best Liverpool content each week direct to your mailbox
