Some things go left unanswered…Jones offers his apologiesWhile there had been plenty of talk in the week with regards to whether or not Salah would apologise to Slot following his comments, there was one public apology on show at Anfield on Saturday.Curtis Jones put Ryan Gravenberch under pressure with one wayward pass in midfield in the first half, with the pair having to be alert to retain possession and prevent a Brighton counter-attack.Jones was quick to sheepishly raise his hand in acknowledgement of the faux pas and apologise to his midfield partner.‘There’s only one James Milner!’James Milner received a hero’s welcome on his return to Anfield with Brighton, with his name loudly cheered when the sides were read out ahead of kick-off.He received similar treatment when introduced in the 87th minute, with his involvement rather more poignant given he now wears the number 20 shirt in honour of his former team-mate Diogo Jota.Chants of ‘There’s only one James Milner!’ soon bellowed around Anfield following his entry to the pitch.And while the veteran ended up on the losing side, he later admitted it was a ‘special moment’ to return to his former stomping ground.“Disappointing result but happy to be back out on the pitch and a special moment to play at Anfield wearing the 20,” he wrote on Instagram.
