Woodman, 29, joined Liverpool last summer on a free transfer from Preston North End. It was his first appearance for Liverpool in the Premier League, and only his second since making his Liverpool debut in the 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Crystal Palace earlier this season.



He joined Preston in 2022 and made 138 appearances for the club before joining Liverpool at the end of his contract last season. His father, Andy Woodman, is a former professional goalkeeper and was a coach at Arsenal, among other clubs.

Woodman is also the godson of former England manager Gareth Southgate, who former a close bond with Woodman’s father when they played together at Crystal Palace. Earlier this season, Woodman explained why he made the decision to join Liverpool, even when first-team opportunities appeared limited.
