He can join a club in any other major European league now, but post-Brexit you have to be 18 to sign for an English club.“And you can’t sign the player now and loan them out until they are 18.“You can take the South American route, pre-sign talent to move when they turn 18. This would be very unusual within Europe, because there is so much internal competition.“So, unless he qualifies for a UK passport, Eichhorn can’t sign for an English club until July 2027.”That leaves Liverpool with the option to pre-sign the player, perhaps how they did with Jeremy Jacquet in January, ahead of him moving to England down the line.But unless he can secure a UK passport, it seems set in stone that the 16-year-old will not officially be a Liverpool player in 2026.
