With Liverpool potentially on the lookout for a new manager in the next 12 months, Albert Riera had been announcing himself as one to keep on the radar.Having landed himself an attractive-looking job with Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of January, the Spaniard appeared to be on an excellent path. However, things have ended in acrimony for Riera after only 14 games with Eintracht. Booed during Sunday’s draw against Stuttgart, the 45-year-old has now been relieved of his duties.

But why did things turn so sour so soon for the former Liverpool winger? What did you make of Salah’s explosive statement before his last game for the club?

Riera will surely pick up another job fairly quickly, but it is unlikely to be at a club as high-profile as the 2022 Europa League champions.
