One story to watch during the final hours of the summer transfer window is that of Harvey Elliott, who has once again found himself surplus to requirements at Liverpool.The 23-year-old had been given the chance for redemption at Anfield after last year’s loan with obligation to buy move to Aston Villa failed to turn into a permanent deal.However, despite impressing Andoni Iraola early on, Elliott has failed to grasp his opportunity, and has been left out of both of Liverpool‘s two Premier League matchday squads so far. 19 could leave on loan for Valencia, but with many under the impression that his contract expired in 2027, a season away from Liverpool would essentially take him to the end of his deal with the Reds.According to journalist James Pearce, however, this is not the case.

He is still young enough to do that.However, it really would be decision time on him. Liverpool cannot afford to lose him for nothing in two years, and the most likely scenario – whether he does well in Spain or not – is that the Reds will look to recoup a fee next year.
