Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer scored the goals, but Estevao was equally good and unfortunate to be denied the third goal due to a fractional offside decision.

Speaking after the game, Alonso was asked about the performance of Estevao, who made his first start of the Premier League campaign. In response, he said: "I had an idea that he could have a good impact today.

He was a threat, he created many chances that we could score." Estevao produced a terrific display after a frustrating period for himself. Chelsea's latest win has seen them jump to fourth in the table with 16 points, five behind league leaders Manchester City.
